Maryland Police Reviewing Surveillance Videos To Identify Speed Camera Attacker

Maryland State Police said they're reviewing surveillance videos from local businesses in search of clues to a suspect who attacked a speed camera enforcement car yesterday.

A man armed with a shotgun and hammer smashed the windshield of a Jeep used by a speed camera contractor, police said. The man in the Jeep wasn't hurt, but the attack prompted officers to shut down the Baltimore-Washington Parkway near BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport for several hours.

The suspect then fled into the woods bordering the road.

A police spokesman said the man does not appear in any of the video investigators have reviewed so far, but that process is continuing.
