Maryland Woman Set Her Mother's Mobile Home on Fire, Police Say

A 25-year-old woman is accused of setting her mother's mobile home on fire overnight Monday in Prince George's County.

Amanda Hooker was charged with arson after police say she set her mother's home ablaze in Upper Marlboro.

Firefighters responded to the 9100 block of Marlboro Pike about 1 a.m. Monday. A first call reported a woman damaging her mother's property. A second call reported a fire there.

Hooker was charged with arson and malicious burning. It wasn't immediately clear if she had a lawyer.

The blaze caused an estimated $80,000 in damage to the mobile home and its contents.

Information was not released on what preceded the blaze.
