Maryland Restaurant Employee Takes Robber’s Gun, Beats Him With It

    A restaurant worker wrested a robber's gun from him and beat him with it, according to Anne Arundel County police.

    A man walked into Mikie's Restaurant in Glen Burnie about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday and pointed a shotgun at an employee. A struggle ensued and the employee took the weapon away from the robber, officers said.

    The Capital of Annapolis reported the employee hit the robber with the gun several times. The robber escaped empty-handed and headed south on Crain Highway.

    The employee was not hurt.

    Police recovered the shotgun.
