Maryland Police Surround Shooting Suspect Barricaded in Home, Close Road Near YMCA Camp

Police have surrounded a home where a person suspected of an Annapolis shooting has barricaded himself, police say.

A section of Route 214 near Oak Street, also known as Central Avenue, in Edgewater, Maryland, is completely closed to traffic until the standoff ends, Anne Arundel County police said.

The barricaded home is near the YMCA’s Camp Letts, police said.

Police arrived about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday searching for a suspect in an Annapolis shooting, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in Annapolis about 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, Annapolis police said.

Two victims, a 41-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, were shot, police said. The woman’s injuries are non-life threatening, but the man is in worse condition, police said.
