Surrattsville's Hill Cracks 1,000 Points

Jasmine Hill dribbles up the court in a game played earlier this season.

A Prince George’s County teen has a lot to celebrate this weekend.

Jasmine Hill, a senior at Surrattsville High, became the first girl in her school’s history to break the 1,000 point barrier for her basketball career.

Hill scored five points last night to give her 1,001 career points. The game was stopped after she made the basket to honor her achievement.

Unfortunately, the team couldn’t celebrate a win, as the Hornets lost to Gwynn Park, 61-36.

Hill will continue her hoops career next year at Howard University.
