Maryland Duct-Tape Rapist Sentenced for 1998 Attack

Man previously convicted of four other assaults

A man convicted of four sexual assaults in two states pleaded guilty to raping a woman near Smithsburg in 1998.

Cambodian immigrant Pov Srun, 40, took a plea deal Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court in Hagerstown, Md.

His sentence for first-degree rape adds 50 years to the 35 he is currently serving for a second-degree rape and a first-degree sexual offense in Montgomery County.

Srun also has been convicted of raping two women in Franklin County, Pa.

The latest case involved a woman who found Srun hiding in her car. He bound her hands and covered her eyes with duct tape, which was used in most of the attacks.
