Man Found Dead in Temple Hills

A man was found dead near a pool in Temple Hills, Maryland on Tuesday evening after police responded to a call of shots fired, but police said in an update Wednesday afternoon that the man was not shot.

After neighbors heard gunshots, the man, who has not been identified, was found near the pool of an apartment complex of the 2900 block of Saint Clair Drive, Prince George's County Police said.

Police were called to the scene, which is less than a mile from the Iverson Mall, about 7 p.m. They found the man unconscious in the grass between the pool and an apartment building.

"The preliminary investigation shows that our victim was involved in some sort of physical altercation with several suspects," Cpl. Nicole Hubbard said. "During the altercation, a shot was fired. The suspects fled and our victim collapsed."

The circumstances of the man's death are under investigation, pending an autopsy. No one has been arrested and the victim has not been identified.

At the scene, PGPD towed a well-preserved, gold, 1970s era Cadillac.
