Police said a man was found dead along the Anacostia River Trail in Cottage City, Maryland, early Saturday morning.
Prince George’s County police were called to the trail for a report of an unconscious man lying on the ground. When they arrived, they found the body of 20-year-old Everett Brown with significant trauma to the upper body.
Brown's mother told News4 she did not know why he was on the trail but it wasn't uncommon for him to use the trail.
The Maryland-National Capital Park Police Department joined the investigation.
