Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a U.S. citizen wanted in California for a parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender.

They took Cristiano Genovese, 56, into custody Wednesday at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Genovese, of Palm Springs, Calif., had just arrived on a flight from Istanbul, Turkey when officers determined there was a warrant out for his arrest. They then turned him over to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police for processing and extradition.
