Infant Found Safe, Man Arrested After Suspected Abduction in Prince William County

The man has been arrested and the child was found unharmed on Sunday, police say

An infant boy has been found safe and unharmed after police say a man took the child from its mother last week in Dumfries, Virginia.

Prince William County police said officers found the suspect, Russell Carnell Walker, and arrested him in the 15100 block of Cardin Place in Woodbridge about 3:45 p.m. Sunday. The 3-month-old child was found safe and unharmed nearby, police said.

Officers had responded to the Motel 6 on Dumfries Road on Thursday to investigate a domestic situation.

A 22-year-old woman from New Mexico told police she had been involved in an altercation with 44-year-old Walker the night before and he took her 3-month-old son, Zion LeBron Favors, and left after the fight.

Walker allegedly assaulted the woman and she sustained minor injuries, police said.

The woman originally told police Walker is Zion's father, but on Saturday she reported he is not the infant's father, police said.

Walker was wanted for abduction, domestic assault and battery.
