Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Annandale Shooting

A man was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in Annandale, Virginia, on Tuesday night.

Police are looking into the possibility that the shooting stemmed from an argument. Witnesses said they heard a woman screaming and using profanity before hearing two gunshots.

The man was shot in the abdomen. Witnesses say the man crawled for a distance down a service road alongside Little River Turnpike.

Fairfax County Police found the victim around 9 p.m. after being called to the 6700 block of Little River Turnpike.

"We did have some witnesses talk about a vehicle that sped away from the scene," said Lt. Tony Matos of Fairfax County Police. "We believe it was a white vehicle." He said authorities weren't sure yet of the make or model.

There is no suspect description available.

Fairfax County Police said people should use caution in the area of Little River Turnpike near Pinecrest Heights Drive.
