A man was struck by an oncoming train at Metro Center around 8:30 p.m. He had stepped into the trackbed, witnesses said.
When rescuers arrived, the man was conscious and breathing.
Red Line service was shut down at Metro Center at 9:20 p.m. but has since reopened.
