Man Struck, Killed by Metro Train

Rail service returns to normal

WASHINGTON -- Normal service has resumed on Metro's Orange and Blue lines.

Metro had stopped running trains at the McPherson Square Station after a man was struck and killed by a train at about 1:15 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

Blue and Orange line trains did not through the McPherson Square Station or the Farragut West and Metro Center stations, causing major delays, according to Metro. Shuttle buses were available between the Federal Triangle and Foggy Bottom stations.

The man apparently was on the tracks intentionally, according to Metro.
