A man has died after police say his son stabbed him Wednesday near the Children's National Medical Center in Northwest.
Otis Byrd, 44, of Greenbelt, Maryland, died after he was attacked on the 100 block of Michigan Avenue NW, police said in an update Thursday.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The suspect is the victim's adult son, police said.
Two sources with MedStar Washington Hospital Center said the victim was a shuttle bus driver for the hospital.
A representative of Children's National Medical Center told News4 the stabbing did not occur inside the hospital and the hospital was not on lockdown.
