A man tried to rape a woman in her Silver Spring home Sunday night, according to Montgomery County, Md., police.
The 56-year-old victim was in her kitchen in a home in the 9400 block of Saybrook Avenue when she heard the side screen door open, police said. A man approached her from behind, threw her to the kitchen and floor and tried to remove her clothing.
The victim struggled with her attacker, and he fled from the home.
He was described as a 5-foot-6-inch Hispanic man in his late 30s or early 40s and weighing about 185 pounds. He wore a long sleeve gray shirt and black jeans.
