Man Sought for Alleged Upskirting in Takoma Park

Police: Victim saw cellphone recording video up her skirt

Takoma Park detectives are looking for a man who allegedly used a cellphone to record video under a woman’s skirt, police said.

Before 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, a man approached the victim in the 6800 block of Eastern Avenue and asked her for directions to College Park. The same man had approached her and asked her for directions on the Takoma Park Metro Station platform between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the victim.

In both incidents, the man kept brushing his book bag against the victim’s leg even as she tried to put distance between the two of them, police said.

On Tuesday, the man followed her on to a train but did not get off the train when she did.

On Wednesday, the victim noticed a cellphone recording video under her skirt through a hole in the book bag, police said. She attempted to take the bag, which ripped. The man took the bag and the cellphone and fled.

The victim described the man as African-American with dark brown skin and short hair standing about 6-foot-1 or 6-foot-2. He was about 18-25 years old and was wearing a green polo shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the case should call police at 301-270-1100.
