Man Shot in Arm in Downtown DC; Investigation Closes Streets

A man was shot in the arm in downtown D.C. early Monday morning, and police closed streets for hours during the investigation.

The victim, who was in a car, was shot by someone in another car about 3 a.m. near 18th and K streets NW, police sources tell News4.

The driver of the vehicle being shot at fled the scene, and was chased by another car, sources said.

Police then were called to Georgia Avenue and Quincy Street NW, near the Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro station, for a shooting investigation. Officers found a man shot in the arm and saw the car also had been shot.

Police are searching for a suspect and motive.

Several blocks near the shooting scene were closed for several hours Monday morning.
