Man Shot, Killed in Southeast D.C.

Police are searching for the gunman in a fatal shooting in southeast D.C.

Eight shots were fired just before noon Monday in the 2200 block of Savannah Street, a couple blocks from the Maryland line, investigators said. Sandy Greene III, 27, was hit twice in the back.

Greene died after being transported to an area hospital.

Police are still trying to determine a motive in the shooting.
