Man Dies in Apparent Hunting Accident in Maryland

A man has died after his gun discharged and shot him in the face during an apparent hunting accident in Frederick County, Maryland, police say.

Vincent Cavallo, 32, of Alta Dena, California, was hunting with his uncle on private property near Camp David Saturday morning when he slipped on rugged terrain, causing his hunting rifle to fire, Maryland Natural Resources Police said.

Police received a call about the shooting about 9:24 a.m.

It was Cavallo's first time hunting, investigators said.

Cavallos's body has been taken to Baltimore for an autopsy.
