Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Dulles “Upskirting” Case

Took videos at Dulles Airport

A Reston, Va., man will spend six years in jail for shooting unlawful videos at Dulles International Airport.

David Solomon, 27, was found guilty of two counts of "upskirting," where a video camera is used to covertly take pictures up the skirt or dress of unknowing women.

In June 2010, a complaint was lodged against Solomon when a man noticed him closely following his fiance. A bag carried by Solomon had its front flap open and a video lens sticking out.

Airport surveillance video identified Solomon, who worked at a bookstore there.

Police searched Solomon's Reston home and found several photographs and videos, several of them deemed to be child pornography.

Two of the victims were identified and located from images taken in 2008 at the airport.

Solomon had been convicted of unlawfully filming females in similar incidents in 2006 and 2007, when he was a college student.

He was also convicted of stalking a female student at the time.

"This is someone whose behavior the community cannot be exposed to any longer," said Commonwealth's Attorney Jim Plowman.

Solomon is required to follow treatment recommendations and faces 10 years of court supervision following his release.

In September he'll be sentenced on a child pornography conviction stemming from the images recovered during the search of his home.
