Man Pulls Guns at Ritz Over Room Cost: Police

Andrew Dziuk walked into the Ritz with two .45-caliber handguns on his belt, police say

A Centreville, Va. man was arrested early Wednesday for allegedly drawing two guns on a security guard at the Pentagon City Ritz-Carlton, ARLnow.com first reported.

Andrew Dziuk, 29, walked into the Ritz around 1:30 a.m. -- with two .45-caliber handguns on his belt, police said -- and asked about getting a room for the night.

ARLnow.com reports:

But this was not the Lice and Things Motor Lodge out on the freeway, where men with guns are perhaps not so rare. Standard room rates at the Pentagon City Ritz start at $599 a night. Taxes not included. The front desk clerk informed the well-armed traveler of the room rate and he became "agitated by the response," Arlington police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.

The man asked for a drink but was denied, and left the hotel but loitered outside, where he was confronted by a security guard.

At that point, police say, he pointed his guns at the guard. One was loaded and cocked with the safety off.

Dziuk has been charged with brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and public drunkenness.
