Man Pleads Guilty in Gang-Related Park Death

Police say a group of men stabbed and killed their victim in an MS-13 gang retaliation

A Virginia man pleaded guilty Thursday to the gang-related stabbing death of a man at a popular park last year, police said.

Boris Elias Rosa Castro, 19, of Fairfax County, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Eduardo David Chandias Almendarez.

Almendarez was found dead in Four Mile Run Park on Dec. 4, 2015, six days after he was reported missing.

Another suspect in the incident, Edwin Alexander Guerreo Umana, 18, of Arlington, told police in April he and two others lured the victim to a McDonald’s to buy marijuana and then brought him to the park. According to court documents, Almendarez's death was revenge for his testimony in the murder trail of a MS-13 gang member.
