Police continue to search for answers in the death of a 30-year-old college student, found with gunshot wounds on the street early Sunday morning.

D.C. police responded to the unit block of N Street NE just before 6 a.m. A security guard had discovered Yewondwosen Hailemariam body. Police say he'd been shot in the chest.

Neighbors in the area told News4 Hailemariam may have worked as a parking attendant at a nearby club.

"Nobody expected this to happen. We're all sad and we're trying to get through it," Alazar Halemariam the victim's brother told News4. "The police will take it from there. I'm sure [an arrest] would give my mom closure."

Police continue to search for Yoendwosen's killer. If you have any information, call 202-727-9099.
