Man Killed in Prince George's County Fire

A disabled man was found dead in a house that caught fire Monday morning in Oxon Hill, Md.

The blaze in the 300 block of Corla Drive was reported at about 8:15 a.m., Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said.

Despite initial water supply issues because of the water main break in the county, firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes. They used water on trucks and water tankers as well as some hydrant water.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters found the victim. He had mobility problems and likely became trapped in the home when it caught fire, Brady said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
