D.C. Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in Northeast early Saturday morning.
Investigators say the shooting occurred shortly after 2 a.m. outside 601 Edgewood Street Northeast. The victim has been identified as Irving Jones Jr, 33, of Northeast. Investigators say Jones was shot in the chest and was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police have not released any word about possible suspects or motive.
