Prince George's County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Lanham Saturday night.
Investigators say a 50-year-old man was struck by a car in the 9400 block of Annapolis Road at around 9 p.m. The man, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and has not been charged in the case, according to investigators.
Police say that the victim was not walking in a crosswalk or intersection at the time of the accident. Alcohol appears to have been a factor.
