Man Freed From Machine in Prince George's County

Man taken to trauma center

A man was extricated after getting his legs trapped in a dye machine at a mulch facility in Prince George's County.

County fire department spokesman Mark Brady said the department received a phone call at 11 a.m. Tuesday about the incident.

Brady said officials were called to Grant County Mulch in the 5400 block of Van Dusen Road in Laurel, Md. Brady said the man's legs were trapped in the machine.

Fire and Rescue's closed-space team, a certified registered nurse anesthetist from Shock Trauma in Baltimore and a medic from Maryland State police worked to sedate and intubate the man so he could be freed without causing further pain.

Brady said the man was freed about 12:30 p.m. and taken to a trauma center in Baltimore.
