MD Man Convicted in Fatal Stabbing of 95-Year-Old Neighbor

A Wheaton, Maryland, man was convicted of second-degree murder Friday for stabbing his elderly neighbor last year in response to alleged unwanted sexual advances, the State’s Attorney’s Office said.

Eric S. Dyson, 62, stabbed 95-year-old Dan Belvin, a retired Navy officer, in February 2015 and then charged about $5,000 to a credit card he stole from the victim.

Dyson claimed he performed sexual favors for the victim but stabbed him due to unwelcome sexual advances, police said.

Dyson was also found guilty of felony theft, theft of a credit card and two counts of use of a credit card.
