Man Murdered in Md. Neighborhood Was Shot, Set on Fire: Police

Prince George's County police say a man who was found dead in a District Heights townhome community had been shot and set on fire.

Officers were called to the 5000 block of Hil Mar Drive about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday where a man's body was found outside of a home.

Police identified the man as 32-year-old Rashaad Garnett Tate.

Tate was shot and set on fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Bob Adams lives in the area and says the incident is unusual for the quiet townhome community.

"I've been living here ever since they built these houses. This is like the first homicide that I'm familiar with over here," Adams said.

No arrests have been made at this time.
