‘Just Come Forward': Witnesses Sought After Deadly Beltway Shooting

Police are seeking tips from anyone who saw the victim's car, a white sedan with a Redskins decal in the back window

Prince George's County police are looking for the person who fatally shot a father of four as he drove along the Capital Beltway Saturday night.

Adriano Lombre, 55, was returning home after dropping off a friend when he was shot multiple times while driving his white Mercury Grand Marquis. Authorities believe the shots came from another vehicle and say Lombre was an innocent victim.

A Prince George's County police officer saw the car stopped in a traffic lane on the Outer Loop of I-495, near the Pennsylvania Avenue exit, about 11:55 p.m. Saturday.

Police believe the 55-year-old man found fatally shot in his car on the Beltway late Saturday was an innocent victim who was shot from another car. News4's Darcy Spencer reports.

Lombre, a father of four who lived in Upper Marlboro, was pronounced dead on the scene.

"We believe he was an innocent victim and that somebody out there would have seen something or know something," Capt. Anthony Schartner said. "We're encouraging them to please give us a call."

Lombre's daughter, Christina, spoke about who her father was.

"I want him to be remembered as a generous person, a family-oriented person," she said.

The shooting stunned her.

"It felt so unreal, like out of all the people it would be him," she said.

A 55-year-old Upper Marlboro man was found fatally shot multiple times in his car late Saturday. News4's Derrick Ward has the initial details.

Lombre had friends at his house Saturday night, Christina Lombre said. They were playing cards and having a good time. Her father drove a friend home in D.C. and then told someone he would be back in 15 minutes. But he never returned.

His body was found in the driver's seat of his car, alone.

Police say they received no 911 calls regarding the shooting.

Anyone who may have seen Lombre's car between 11:30 p.m. and midnight is asked to call police. The car has a distinctive large white decal that says "Skin Fan for Life" and has the Washington Redskins' logo.

Traffic was delayed in the area during the investigation.

Anyone who may have seen Lombre's car is asked to call 1-866-411-TIPS. No detail is too small. A cash reward is available.

"Just come forward," Christina Lombre said. "Do the right thing and suffer the consequences."

Lombre's family is fundraising for his funeral.
