Man Fatally Shot in Southeast D.C.

Police have identified the man fatally shot in southeast Washington Tuesday night.

Officers found James Edward Booker suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 500 block of Alabama Avenue SE just before 10 p.m. Police say Booker was shot in the 3200 block of 6th Street SE but ran for about a block before collapsing on 6th Street.

Booker was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information that can lead to an arrest is asked to call police at 202-727-9099.
