Authorities say a 21-year-old man was fatally shot at a house party in Mechanicsville.
The shooting occurred early Saturday morning. The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office says the victim was Cody Lacey, of Mechanicsville. He died at the scene.
Authorities say they have identified the suspected shooter, Alan Michael Rangel, 21. Police said the arrest warrant is for first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/crime of violence.
Two men have been arrested and charged with accessory after the fact. The sheriff's office identified those men as Demetrius Burks-Jeffrey, 22, of Chaptico, and Wade Braithwaite, 21, of Lexington Park.
Evidence related to the slaying was also recovered at the home where the two men were arrested.
