Montgomery County police say as many as three people broke into an Aspen Hill home Wednesday night and fatally shot a resident of the home.

The victim has been identified by police as Alexander Benson Buie, 34.

Officers were called to the 13400 block of Grenoble Drive just before 11 p.m. for a report of a home invasion. Inside the home, authorities found Buie suffering from a gunshot wound.

Buie died from his injuries at an area hospital.
