A Lorton, Va., man faces several charges after hitting and killing a man while under the influence in Ocean City, police said.

Around 1:20 a.m. Monday, Diogo Facchini was driving his truck when he struck a pedestrian trying to cross Coastal Highway, authorities say.

The driver didn't stop, and witnesses followed him until police caught up with him. Police say the Facchini was speeding and intoxicated.

The victim, Matthew Cheswick of Cooksville, died at the hospital.
