Man Dies in Montgomery County Collision

A 40-year-old man died in a two-vehicle collision in Boyds, Md. early this morning.

The incident occurred when a silver 2009 Infiniti G30 sedan -- traveling north on Route 28 through the White's Ferry Road intersection -- crossed the double yellow lines and collided with a white 1999 Isuzu box truck that was southbound on Route 28, according to the preliminary investigation. Rescue workers arrived at approximately 4:18 a.m.

The driver of the Infiniti died on the scene. He has been identified as Michael Alan Stoos of Sandy Spring, Md.

The driver of the Isuzu was Dennis Stephen Conni, 62, of Poolesville, Va. The passenger of the Isuzu was Jose Luis Hernandez, 32, of Northwest Washington. Both were transported to Suburban Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The collision remains under investigation. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435.
