Man Charged With Setting Fire at Virginia Walmart

Fairfax County fire investigators have charged a man with setting a fire at a Walmart store in Chantilly, Virginia.

Brenton Carter, 22, is charged with setting a fire Feb. 4 at the store at 4368 Chantilly Shopping Center, fire officials said. Carter is also charged with disorderly conduct and possessing illegal fireworks. Officials say Carter has no fixed address.

During the incident, firefighters found smoke and a small fire near a clothes rack. An employee had quickly extinguished the flames, and the store was evacuated. No one was injured.

The store had about $1,000 in property damage.

Carter is being held at the Fairfax County Detention Center.
