Man stabbed outside New York Avenue homeless shelter

Man Charged In NE Stabbing

A 25-year-old Northeast man has been charged in the stabbing death of a man outside a homeless shelter Friday morning.

Police have charged 25-year-old Reginald Edward Green with Murder Two while Armed in the death of Alfonza Flythe, 35, also of Northeast.

Investigators say that Flythe was stabbed multiple times Friday morning outside of the New York Avenue Men's Emergency Shelter at 1355 New York Avenue, NE. Flythe was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
