Man Carjacks Woman After Silver Spring Gas Station Robbery

Police believe the man is also responsible for robbing another gas station three times.

Montgomery County police said they are looking for a man who carjacked a woman after robbing a gas station in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Police said the man robbed the Silver Spring Shell gas station, located in the 9500 block of Georgia Avenue, on Nov. 25, after he showed a handgun to the clerk and demanded cash and cigarettes. The clerk gave him the money and cigarettes, and the man ran out of the store toward the gas pumps.

They said when he got to the pumps, he ran toward a woman who was fueling up her car and demanded the keys. Investigators said the gunman allowed the woman to get out of her car and remove her packages before taking her vehicle, a 2008 black Scion.

Detectives believe the man previously robbed a nearby BP gas station three times before hitting the Shell station. Anyone with information about these armed robberies or carjacking or the gunman is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
