Police: Man Bit Victim's Face in Anti-Muslim Attack Outside Virginia Mall

A Virginia man is accused of biting another man's face after using anti-Muslim slurs in a mall parking lot late last year.

Robin McGreer, 35, was arrested Monday and charged with bias-related malicious bodily injury, Fairfax County police said in a statement.

Investigators said McGreer approached a 31-year-old man on Nov. 27 in the lot at Tysons Corner Center, started a conversation and threatened him with racial insults.

The two started fighting and police say McGreer bit the victim in the face before fleeing.

The victim suffered a significant facial wound and was taken to a hospital.

Police spokeswoman Megan Hawkins said the threats and slurs at issue were anti-Muslim. She said the delay between the incident and arrest occurred because the investigation was thorough.

Online records did not list an attorney for McGreer, a McLean resident.
