Man Tries to Sexually Assault Woman at Knife Point: Police

Back window of suspect's truck was covered in plastic

Police are looking for a man who tried to sexually assault a woman at knife point in southeast D.C. early Monday morning.

The victim was walking in the 2000 block of 18th Street SE at 2 a.m. when she was approached by an unknown man. Police say the man pulled out a knife and force the woman into his black pick-up truck, where he tried to sexually assault her. After a struggle, the woman was able to escape.

The suspect is described as a black male, who is 5'9" and has a thin build. Authorities say he's in his 30s, has facial hair and was last seen wear a gray shirt and jeans. The back rear windshield of his truck was covered with plastic.
