Man Arrested for Using Slingshot Outside White House Was Previously Arrested at Capitol

A man who arrested outside the White House on Tuesday for allegedly using a slingshot to fire a small object over the fence had been arrested previously at the U.S. Capitol for breaking a window.

Court documents show that on Sept. 5, Adam Sheridan Olson was arrested after allegedly throwing a hard object and breaking a window that cost between $15,000 and $60,000.

Olson said he would be back to break more windows, according to court documents. He was ordered to stay away from the Capitol as well as lawmakers' nearby office buildings.

Olson was arrested Tuesday afternoon outside the White House after allegedly firing a slingshot over the north fence line, along Pennsylvania Avenue.

A statement from the Secret Service says officers saw a man with the slingshot, and as they were watching, he fired it toward the White House.

Officers immediately arrested the man, later identified as Olson. He has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon and assault of a police officer.

The Secret Service has not released his age or place of residence.

After Olson's arrest, Secret Service officers conducted a protective sweep as a precaution, and didn't find anything out of the ordinary.
