Man Arrested Outside White House Grounds Identified

A man charged with unlawful entry after he tried to climb a barrier set up outside the White House is a 23-year-old from Washington.

A court document identifies the man arrested Sunday as Mauricio Juan Jimenez Aguirre of northwest Washington.

The document says Aguirre was arrested after he tried to pull himself over ``security measures'' in place outside the executive mansion. The document doesn't elaborate, but officials set up a temporary, second layer of fence in front of the north side of the White House after a different man armed with a knife was able to get over the existing fence last year.

Online court records show Aguirre pleaded not guilty Monday to the unlawful entry charge and is scheduled to return to court March 2. A telephone number listed for Aguirre rang unanswered Monday afternoon.
