A man left his two young children, including an infant, in a car while he went shopping, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

About 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, two children, a 4-year-old and a 5-month-old, were left unattended for about 20 minutes in a vehicle parked on the lot at the Walmart in Frederick, deputies said. The outside temperature was 24 degrees with a wind chill of 11 degrees, according to authorities.

Anisur Rahman, of Point of Rocks, was arrested and charged with child abuse.

The children were released to their mother.
