Police Identify 78-Year-Old Man Murdered in Woodbridge Home

Prince William County police have identified the 78-year-old Woodbridge, Va., man found murdered in his home Tuesday night.

A friend of  Charlie Duncan Adkins stopped by his home in the 3400 block of Caledonia Circle just after 8 p.m. for a visit and found the door unlocked. When officers arrived, they found Adkins inside with an injury to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Adkins was last seen Sunday.

His death remains under investigation.
