MAP: 6 New Speed Cameras in D.C. Begin Issuing Tickets

Heads up! The grace period for six new speed cameras in D.C. has ended. That means the cameras will begin issuing fines, not warnings, Thursday. 

Last month, the cameras were activated in areas where police say speeding is a problem. Two of the cameras catch speeders going northbound and southbound in the 1400 block of South Capitol Street SE, near Nats Park.

The cameras are located in the:

  • 6100 block of Eastern Avenue NE, with speed limit of 25 mph
  • 3200 block of Fort Lincoln Drive NE, with speed limit of 25 mph
  • 1900 block of Branch Avenue SE, with speed limit of 25 mph
  • 1400 block of South Capitol Street SE (northbound), with speed limit of 25 mph
  • 1400 block of South Capitol Street SE (southbound), with speed limit of 25 mph
  • 600 block Kenilworth Avenue NW, with speed limit 25 mph
