Look for Councilmember Thomas on the Corner

DC Councilmember Harry Thomas (front, center) won't be speaking at the microphone during his corner meetings this week. At least, we hope not.

If you're a concerned citizen of DC's Ward 5, you've got several chances this week to bend DC Councilmember Harry Thomas's ear.

Here's where he'll be at from 5-7 p.m.:

  • Monday, August 17 at the corner of 12th and Monroe
  • Tuesday, August 18, at the corner of 1st and Rhode Island
  • Wednesday, August 19, at Lamond Riggs Library
  • Thursday, August 20, at Langston Carver

The councilman's flyer states: "Please come out and discuss your individual issues and concerns," Brookland Avenue reports.

Thomas also tells Bloomingdale (for now) that these "Councilmember on Your Corner" events are a chance for residents "to share their thoughts and concerns with me without having to leave their neighborhoods."

Indeed.  So don't be shy folks, step up to the corner and tell Thomas exactly how you feel.
