Longer School Days for Prince George's County Students

Middle school students will spend up to 40 minutes more in class

Prince George’s County middle school students are in for longer days.

Starting in August, middle schools students will spend up to 40 minutes more in class. Officials say the time will be used to help students with science, math, and reading.

If students don’t need the extra help, the time will be used for creative enrichment, like music and foreign languages.

The new schedule will also save money on transportation by allowing many middle and high school bus route to merge.
