Charles H. Acker IV was arrested last month on charges of possessing and distributing child pornography. The arrest came nearly a year after police confiscated his computer when they linked its IP address to pornographic videos and images downloaded from a file sharing network.
Montgomery County schools ended Acker's employment within days of his arrest. A spokeswoman for the school system says education officials conducted their own investigation during those few days to determine which actions to take. They did not send notes to parents because Acker's arrest did not involve students.
His lawyer says his client is innocent and says the arrest had nothing to do with Acker's job. He had worked as a bus driver for five years.
