The Army says a local soldier is one of two men killed on Memorial Day in Afghanistan.
Chief Warrant Officer Five John Pratt, 51, of Springfield, Va., was killed Monday when his helicopter crashed near Kabul. Capt. John Brainard, 26, of Maine was also killed in the crash.
The Defense Department has not said what caused the chopper to go down.
