A local pastor was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a tree.
Elijah Alexander Byrd was traveling southbound on Joplin Road near mile marker 20 in Triangle, Va., when the 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was on crashed. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, police said.
Byrd lived in Dale City and was the pastor at the Open Arms Pentecostal Free WIll Baptist Church in Woodbridge.
He was 59 years old.
